Cynthia S. Rhoads

Cynthia S. Rhoads, 89, of Carlisle and formerly of Hummelstown went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.  She was the wife of the late Herman Paul Lester Rhoads who passed away in August 2004.

Cynthia was born July 23, 1936 in Lebanon County to the late Christian P. and Clara E. (Templin) Strupp.

She was very outgoing and enjoyed waitressing for many years until retiring from the Hershey Motor Lodge.  Cynthia enjoyed being with family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She was very artistic, creating many canvas paintings, dolls, flower arrangements, and all types of arts and crafts and took great joy in decorating her home.  Cynthia liked cooking, baking, shopping, auctions and playing the lottery.

Surviving are her children Herman Paul Rhoads (Connie) of Harrisburg, Simone L. Walton (Dave) of Newville, Sherry L. Wright of Manheim, and James I. Rhoads (Karen) of York Haven; grandchildren Nicole Martino (Phil), Samantha Rhoads (Bryan), Paul Rhoads (Ashley), Lindsay Hines and Kimberly Wright (Nathan); great grandchildren Caleb and Christian Hines, and Olivia, Luke, and Madison Rhoads and many nieces and nephews.

The last of her immediate family,  she was preceded in death by siblings Lloyd Strupp, Russell Strupp, Calvin Strupp, Christian Strupp, Harry Strupp, Josephine Kapp, Pauline DeHart, Elmira Good, Florence Kingsboro, Clara DiScuillo, Grace McDonnell and Frederick Strupp.
