Louise Gibble Craft, 85, died Sunday morning, February 22, 2026, at Londonderry Village in Palmyra, PA. She was the wife of Berton Roger Craft who died in July 2017, the year they celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary.
Louise was born to the late Ammon B. and Verna Mae (Bowman) Gibble on June 1, 1940, in Harrisburg, PA. After graduating from Hershey High School class of 1958 and then Shippensburg College with a degree in Business Education, Louise taught for two years in Holidaysburg, PA, and then for 29 years at Middletown Area High School.
For most of her life, Louise was an active member of Spring Creek Church of the Brethren, Hershey. In later years, she enjoyed worshipping at the Palmyra Church of the Brethren. Louise’s favorite activity was volunteering for various organizations, including her church and other non-profits. As members of Friendship Force, Louise and Bert enjoyed hosting international members and traveling abroad. Louise’s most memorable trips were to Nigeria. In addition to their international travel, they visited all fifty states.
Surviving are a daughter, Rhonda (Heininger) and husband John Winesickle, granddaughter, Sarah Winesickle-White and husband Austin; a stepdaughter, Tracey L. Craft and husband Joe Latrell; a stepson and family, Berton F. and Heather (Williams) Craft, grandchildren Joanna and husband Wesley Massey, Roger and wife Erin, Ruth, Lydia, Sarah and husband Ben Kessler, Micaiah, and Hananiah as well as 7 great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Greta Gibble of CA, sister-in-law, Deborah (Penhorwood) Craft of Fleetwood, PA, as well as much loved nieces and nephews. Louise was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Husson and granddaughter, Hannah Craft.
In accordance with Louise’s wishes, there will be no services. Rather, consider doing a Random Act of Kindness in her memory.
